My in-world friends, Simatarou Little, Kasa Voom and Caran Juran did a great job creating these things that characterize Leon: a potted plant (Aglaonema nitidum), a pair of sunglasses and a necklace. They will be on sale at the photo exhibition “Matilda & Leon” next week. More details to follow.

I’ve got another story to work on in Second Life: Matilda and Leon in the movie Leon (1994, Luc Besson), a touching story between Matilda (a cute, rebellious 12-year-old girl played by Natalie Portman) and Leon (a skilled hitman played by Jean Reno). Leon discovers his ability to live, feel and love through Matilda, which is an essential part of this epoch-making film.
セカンドライフでやりたいことがまたひとつ増えました。映画「レオン」（1994年、リュック・ベッソン監督）の再現です。キュートで生意気な少女マチルダ（ナタリー・ポートマン）と凄腕の殺し屋レオン（ジャン・レノ）との間のせつなく悲しい物語。レオンはマチルダを通し、自分の中にある人の心に目覚めます。一世を風靡したこの映画の底辺に流れるテーマです。
本当にごきげんなパーティーでした。フランスと日本の時差は8時間。朝6時に起きた甲斐もあった！ フランス流のもてなしとロマックス・マクミランの素晴らしいパフォーマンスで暖かく迎えてもらいました。（僕がリクエストしたミッシェル・ポルナレフの歌まで歌ってくれて。）ＳＬアルカションはバーチャルな町にすぎません。でも、アバターの背後には生身の人間と心。つまるところ、セカンドライフがただの仮想世界に終わらない理由のひとつはここにある。僕はそう思います。

このたび、気さくな人たちで賑わうフランスの町「SLアルカション」の一員となりました。ありがたいことです。日本時間で10月31日の朝6時（うわっ！）から歓迎パーティーを開いてくれるそうです。フランスのシンガーでSLアルカションの住民でもあるLomax Mcmillanのライブコンサートも同時に開催。みなさん、（土曜の早朝からアホみたいに）いっしょに盛り上がりませんか？
While I’ve taken dozens of pictures in-world for desktop wallpapers (some of which are posted on Koinup), pier, my friend who is a Koinup manager, casually suggested that we hold a contest for virtual wallpapers. So, see the rules and guidelines and enter this first-of-its-kind contest!
これまで、デスクトップの壁紙用にインワールドでたくさんの写真を撮ってきましたが（一部をKoinupに掲載中）、友人でKoinupのマネージャーでもあるpierが、ひょんなことから「バーチャルウォールペーパー」というテーマでコンテストを開いてはどうかと提案してくれました。ルールとガイドラインはここ。初めての試みとなるこのコンテスト、みなさん奮ってご応募ください。
日本の方々へ（僕が考える壁紙の基本要素）
目に優しい色、抑え目なコントラスト、心休まる風景(推奨）、アイコンの邪魔にならない構図・被写体、マルチディスプレイとの相性（画像を横に並べたときの連続性）、飽きの来ない題材などなど。また、適度に暗い方が電力節約の点からも好適です。
追伸：応募するまえに、実際にご自分で壁紙として使ってみることをお勧めします。

I'm just dumbfounded that a picture I took in Second Life for desktop wallpaper has had 2842 views as of today. It could be that hundreds of people around the world see it everyday, which makes me feel I’m doing something worthwhile.
